Virtual Reality (VR) innovation accomplishments
in the development of Chemistry Lab in Metaverse
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Nisai Fuengwarodsakul, the Dean of The Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), along with Associate Professor Dr. Unalome Wetwatana Hartley, and the developer of Lab-VR, showcased their work at Setthasathian School for the Deaf. The demonstration was featured on 3Mitinews Scoop on Channel 3 (33HD).
The “Development of Chemistry Lab in the Metaverse” project secured research and development funding from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, aiming to advance innovations that foster social inclusivity and address social inequality. Setthasathian School for the Deaf has been selected as a pilot school for the demonstration test, and an additional five schools actively participate in a pilot program for less fortunate children and the broader community.
This innovative project significantly supports educational development in Thailand and strengthens collaboration between Thai and German researchers specializing in multidisciplinary fields, such as chemical engineering and cybernetics engineering. The bilateral collaboration aligns with one of the core missions of the Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering, promoting cooperation between Thailand and Germany.

ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.นิสัย เฟื่องเวโรจน์สกุล คณบดีบัณฑิตวิทยาลัยวิศวกรรมศาสตร์นานาชาติ สิรินธร ไทย-เยอรมัน (TGGS) มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าพระนครเหนือ (มจพ.) พร้อมด้วย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. อุณาโลม เวทย์วัฒนะ ฮาร์ทลี่ อาจารย์ประจำหลักสูตรวิศวกรรมเคมีและกระบวนการ อาจารย์เจ้าของผลงาน ร่วมถ่ายทำบันทึกเทป สกู๊ปรายการข่าว 3 มิติ ทางสถานีโทรทัศน์ไทยทีวีสี ช่อง 3 ผลงานนวัตกรรม VR การพัฒนาห้องปฏิบัติการการทดลองทางเคมีในชุมชนโลกเสมือนจริง (Development of Chemistry Lab in Metaverse) ให้กับโรงเรียนเศรษฐเสถียร ในพระราชูปถัมภ์ เพื่อช่วยเหลือผู้บกพร่องทางการได้ยินและยังมีโครงการจัดทำให้กับโรงเรียนนำร่องอีก 5 โรงเรียน โดยโครงการนี้ได้รับทุนอุดหนุนการวิจัยและพัฒนาจากกองทุนพัฒนาดิจิทัลเพื่อเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ซึ่งเป็นการพัฒนาร่วมกันระหว่างนักวิจัยไทยและนักวิจัยเยอรมัน ตามพันธกิจหลักของบัณฑิตวิทยาลัยวิศวกรรมศาสตร์นานาชาติสิรินธร ไทย-เยอรมัน มจพ. ที่ส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศไทยและเยอรมัน ในการพัฒนานวัตกรรมใหม่ที่เป็นประโยชน์ด้านการศึกษาและพัฒนาบุคลากรให้แก่ประเทศ ในโครงการมีนักวิจัยไทยที่เป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านวิศวกรรมเคมี และมีนักวิจัยชาวเยอรมันที่เป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้าน Virtual reality ความจริงเสมือน ทำงานร่วมกันเพื่อพัฒนา ห้องปฏิบัติการเสมือนจริงสำหรับการทดลองวิชาเคมีสำหรับนักเรียน ณ โรงเรียนเศรษฐเสถียร ในพระราชูปถัมภ์
