The TGGS delegates visited the Institute of Aerodynamics (AIA) at RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
On May 4th 2016, Asst. Prof. Dr. Monpilai Narasingha, TGGS Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekachai Juntasaro, TGGS Associate Dean for Research and Academic Service and Dr.-Ing. Chayakorn Netramai, TGGS Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs visited the Institute of Aerodynamics (AIA) at RWTH Aachen University, Germany to discuss about the academic and research activities between TGGS, KMUTNB and AIA.
The discussion took place at the von Kármán Meeting room at AIA where TGGS delegation met with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Schröder, Head of Institute and Director of JARA-HPC and Dr.-Ing. Matthias Meinke, Senior Scientist and Head of Computational Fluid Dynamics.
AIA and TGGS had a history of fruitful academic collaboration where several PhD and Master students from the Mechanical Engineering Simulation and Design (MESD) program at TGGS came for the research exchange at AIA.
The Chair of Fluid Mechanics and the Institute of Aerodynamics belongs to the department of mechanical engineering of the RWTH Aachen University. The experimental and numerical units plus the laboratory for bio-medical flows constitute the main departments of the institute. Several subsonic, transonic and supersonic wind tunnels and water tunnels are the essential experimental facilities. In addition, there are special test rigs to study flow fields, e.g., within piston engines, through safety valves, and artificial heart valve prosthesis [source: http://www.aia.rwth-aachen.de].
